Spiders impress with their eight eyes and eight legs. Their
webs are architectural marvels – their hunting techniques
are bizarre and unique. Their vibratory sense serves as an
extremely creative sense of hearing, and their species
diversity runs into the tens of thousands.
Measuring over three metres in length, two metres in width
and a good seventy metres in height, the hand-polished
brass-bronze sculpture “Thrilling 8” is impressive and
powerful. Hand-hammered and modelled, it has the
incorruptible quality of sculpture
The eight eyes cast out of glass, differently coloured with
pigments, are fascinating, being realized in “lost form”,
set in bronze and gilded by hand. For completion, cameras
are used in four eyes to simulate the 360 degree view of the
spider in a room of 6 x 6 metres. Thus, the viewers are
captured and projected into the room to observe themselves.
“Thrilling 8” reflects society’s surveillance mania. A play
of skilful craftsmanship and the art of extravagant
presentation, coupled with the touch of a jewel.

Kohlrabi needs between eight and ten weeks from seed to
finished fruit. It is generally considered a cheap
vegetable, although it is rich in vitamin C and contains
very important nutrients that we need every day – it is, in
other words, food for life.
This was the key inspiration to create a homage to the
miracle of seed and fruit in the form of a sculpture
measuring 75x45 cm. Symbolic of a “valuable” food for life.
A brass-bronze alloy kohlrabi modelled and hammered by hand.
Hand polished several times, matt blasted, leaves and veins
finely polished with specially made tools, 24 carat gold
plated and finally finely polished several times. To realise
this work, it was necessary to collaborate with specialists
who refine interiors for Bugatti and Rolls Royce.
The whole working process took over two years to complete
this sculpture perfectly. At the same time, this is also the
demand I make on my thinking, artistic work and my works.

The “amygdala” forms part of the limbic system in our brain.
It regulates emotional reactions, stores memory content and
analyses potential dangers. A reflection that is not unknown
to me - from my personal life experience and in my work.
This also gave rise to the idea for this work. Intuitively,
I succeeded in linking this sculpture to the theme of
perception in reference to my preferred style epoch of “Art
Deco”.
Brass-bronze alloy, hand-hammered and modelled, specially
lacquered. The base is finished with piano lacquer.
Amygdala
Soil and its fertility – a generous host for all beings.
It’s in our nature. The symbiosis between humans, fauna and
flora, seed and food – we are lucky to have this diversity
and lushness. But the future may not be this lucky, because
humans have changed, have expelled themselves from this
paradise. Manically driven to change, manipulate and
destroy. Money, greed and power at any price. For too long,
they have left their destructive traces in the shape of
burnt earth. Yet the brown hare is a stubborn little fellow.
In art it also embodies rebirth and resurrection. It is a
symbol of fertility and sensual pleasure. It has many
friends and there are more every day. What matters to them
is to cultivate the “field” of the future with empathy and
diligence. To preserve the symbiosis between humans, fauna
and flora. And to redefine our work together in order to
create quality of life in the future as well, space for
everyone and everything.
The total work of art also includes a classically composed
piece of music based on the well-known “Flight of the
Bumblebee”. In further dialogue, a fairy tale is created to
bring children closer to nature and to be an inspiration for
future generations.

The brass plates were shaped with endless hammer strokes,
polished, chiselled and then finepolished by hand. The
result: A three-metre high monument whose every meticulously
formed groove, recess and gnarled shape reflects its
500-year history. It is the history of a tree rooted in the
same spot for centuries, never the centre of attention and
yet always right there. A special wax polishing technique is
used to make the brass/bronze olive tree shimmer like gold
to symbolise the endless abundance of nature.
This olive tree also visualises the roots of history – the
deeper and the further back we go, the more exciting it
gets. This is the only way to show just how important a role
time plays in human life and in nature. It is only when we
imagine ourselves on the streets of ancient Pompeii that we
can properly understand where we came from and why we must
absolutely be led by nature and must use, not exploit, it.
The “Olive Tree Pompeii” reflects the events of the last
centuries and the events taking place in the present and is
a symbol of the endless power and beauty of nature.

The story of Little Red Riding Hood as a metaphor in the
form of a predator-like set of teeth with a secret
compartment as a throat. Bronze and brass are the
high-quality materials for the beast that seems to devour
everything. Hand-hammered, counter-driven and thus brought
into shape - that’s the sculptural process. Elaborately
polished by hand in the finishing stage. A reference to a
world that seems threatening and at the same time evil, that
seems to devour everything and at the same time is difficult
to fathom. And yet with a spark of human hope at the end,
like in a fairy tale that takes a turn for the better.
A sculpture (220x38x105cm) with proverbial ambiguity that
plays creatively and surprisingly, shockingly yet hopefully
with our conventional expectations and memories.

Sometimes in life, you fall: In love, in grace, by yourself,
